Maurice Farber is a trained data scientist and geographer with several years of experience as a management and strategy consultant in the United States. Born and raised in New York City, Maurice is passionate about all things geography, maps, and public transportation and believes in the power of data visualization and storytelling.
After successfully completing a Masters in Geographic Data Science from the London School of Economics in 2024, Maurice has resided in London working as a data scientist and researcher for LSE Cities where he builds geospatial data processing pipelines, conducts ad-hoc analysis, and makes high-quality cartographic products.
Before pursuing a post-graduate degree, Maurice was a management and strategy consultant professional in the United States, based in Washington, DC and then New York City. At both boutique firms and large multinationals, he has honed skills in requirements gathering, stakeholder management and communication, analyzing business processes, and strategizing solutions to pervasive pain points, entering new markets, and distributing resources and investments. Maurice has a thorough attention for detail and speaks the language of clients and stakeholders, making new and technical concepts easy to understand.
Outside of the office, Maurice enjoys reading, traveling, learning foreign languages, watching soccer, and skiing. He also loves to make maps and analyze them and works on many side projects, primarily interactive web maps. Both will be the focus of this website!
